Garden Partners
Garden Partners is a social enterprise providing a gardening service to its customers. Garden Partners works with people with special needs and/or learning disabilities, growing and selling food. Suitable for people who may be looking for supported work experience and might benefit from outdoor activity. Also offers literacy teaching as part of the work experience package.

Garden Partners is based in Stocksbridge but also works in other parts of the city. Offers free taster days. The partners are happy to meet with families, carers and other professionals who may be interested in using the service, and seeks to involve and consult its members, their families and support workers.

Prices:

There is a charge for the work experience package of £45 per day, which enables users to work in a small supervised group. The cost can be met through entitlement to Individual Budgets/Direct Payments. People who are able to work independently as volunteers are not charged (all prices are provided by Garden Partners, please check them yourself for accuracy).

Garden Partners also offers a gardening service for local people to help manage their own gardens, this is charged at £10 per hour. Other arrangements can be negotiated, for example use of part of a customers land to grow produce and train people etc would lead to reduced rates. Customers receiving the gardening service can also request help with cleaning and shopping, this service is also charged at a rate of £10 per hour.

Qualifications & Quality Standards:

Staff are PGCE qualified with QTS specialism in learning difficulties, counselling skills and 20 years teaching experience.
