Get Going
The Get Going project is designed to help young people with learning disabilities/difficulties and their parents/carers overcome possible fears, and work towards a future of increased independence in travelling to and from their learning establishment. The project is run by Sheffield City Council's Assessment and Training Team.

The Scheme helps to give young people a chance to develop travel safety skills, without losing transport assistance, as well as increasing their confidence and develop maturity. Each young person is treated as an individual with a travel plan tailor-made to suit their needs.

By taking part in the Get Going project, young people can look forward to being more able to:
• Access social and other opportunities
• Attend college and work placements
• Work towards becoming an independent traveller in the future
• Having a full, happy and healthy life
