Sheffield Local Assistance Scheme
The aim of the Local Assistance Scheme is to support independent living and help Sheffield residents in crisis situations with an identified need that cannot be met from another source. This service replaces Crisis Loans and Community Care Grants that were administered by the Department of Work and Pensions.

The Sheffield Local Assistance Scheme administers Local Assistance Loans and Grants.

Applicants to the scheme must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Income Support
Income based Job Seekers Allowance
Income related Employment Support Allowance
Pension Credit

Further criteria must also be met in order to qualify for the Local Assistance Scheme. Please see the website for more information.
