What is the Recognised Provider List?

The Recognised Provider List (RPL) is a tool set up, monitored and updated by Sheffield City Council. It will allow adults in Sheffield who are looking for packages of care and support to choose from a list of providers who adhere to a clear quality framework. The RPL aims to ensure that customers receive good quality services from providers.

Residential care homes cannot apply to the Recognised Provider List for private residential care. However Residential Care Homes can apply if offering support packages such as respite and day services.

In order to gain Recognised Provider status and the quality mark, providers must meet the following quality standards:

Adults who purchase services using their own resources or through a Direct Payment are free to choose providers who are not included on the Recognised Provider List.

Providers will only be awarded the RPL status for the services stated on the application submitted. If any new services are developed after the initial application has been assessed providers will need to reapply.

If an organisation on Help Yourself is a Recognised Provider you will see the Recognised Provider logo in their entry.
